Al Herback's Retirement

A dinner was held on April 2, 2016 at the Redwoods Golf Course in Langley, B.C. to help celebrate Al Herback's retirement from Little League Canada as the National Coach.  Al was a former school teacher and since his humble beginnings in Calgary in 1972, Al's teaching has grown into one of the most internationally recognized education program for baseball and softball managers and coaches in the world.  Al has travelled to many cities across Canada during the 1980’s with the Play Ball Program which culminated to the Little League Canada Teaching for Tomorrow program.  He has been featured on the Blue Jay and Expo telecasts with seventh inning tips, which included well-known commentators Duke Snider and Tony Kubek.  In 2008, Al was inducted in the Alberta Sports Hall of Fame.

Happy retirement, Al!

LLBC would like to thank Linda Hanson, who organized the event.
